Three Game Review of Novice Local League Team Anderson Appliances
The review begins with Thursday night game in Langton on February 5th. Team Anderson Appliances faced off against the Langton Leafs. With the home ice advantage, Langton secured their two points in the OMHA playoffs with a 10-0 win. It was a tough game for Ingersoll, but the players showed great sportsmanship with the loss.


Saturday February 7th took the Express team on the road to Waterford. Team Anderson Appliances were revved up to play the Wildcats.
The first period remained scoreless with both teams sizing each other up to see when their scoring opportunity would happen.

Things livened up towards the end of the second period. The Wildcats took the lead scoring with three minutes left in the period. One minute later, Ingersoll tied things up when #10 C. Skevington scored, with a little help from his friends, #14 E. Schram and #7 M. Vervaecke. The advantage was taken further when Waterford received a two minute penalty with only one minute left in the second period. The game was tied 1-1 at the end of the second period.

As the penalty extended into the third period,Team Anderson utilized the one player advantage by scoring ten seconds in. #10 C. Skevington scored this time unassisted. The Wildcats received another two minute penalty two minutes into the third period. Halfway through the penalty, #3 J. Robles scored assisted by #10 C. Skevington and #16 B. Huitema. Ingersoll was leading the game 3-1. The Wildcats were not giving up without a fight. They scored with only 4 seconds left in the period. Ingersoll won 3-2 final score. Great work Team Anderson Appliances!

The playoff excitement continued on Monday, February 9th when Team Anderson's went on the road to play the Simcoe Warriors. Team Anderson started the game off scoring one and a half minutes into the first period. #18 R. Bryce scored assisted by #19 T. Belore and #7 M. Vervaecke. Two minutes later, the Warriors placed a number on the scoreboard tying the game. #10 C. Skevington carried the puck up into the Warriors zone and slipped it past the goaltender. Ingersoll finished off the first period leading 2-1.

Ingersoll took the lead further by scoring two minutes into the second period. #10 C. Skevington shot the puck past the Warriors goalie this time assisted by #17 C. McNeil and #5 G. Folkema. Parents and fans sat on the edge of their seats the remainder of the game. The two teams were evenly matched and trying their best to capitalize on every scoring opportunity. Ingersoll ended the second period leading 3-1.

We aren't sure what the Warrior coach said in his pep talk, but Simcoe stepped up their game in the third period. Three minutes into the period, the Warriors scored. Ingersoll fought back hard to keep the lead. With only a minute left in the game, Simcoe tied the game up 3-3. What a great exhibition of teamwork!
