Season Opener is a Sea of Pink
The Ingersoll Express Minor Midget Team opened their season at home hosting the Dorchester Dragons October 3rd.  It was PINK Night with all gate donations going to the Canadian Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Awareness / Research.

Dorchester quickly got on the board with a backhanded roof shot. Ingersoll’s Dimmers had a breakaway but shot high. The Dragons soon were up by 2. The Express had a power play opportunity but were unable to capitalize. The penalty box doors began to swing open midway thru the 1st period and would see plenty of action for the entire game with a total of 80 penalty minutes recorded. Lednicky (Chevrier, Warnock) scored a scrambly goalmouth goal for the Express and the period ends 3-1 in favour of the visitors.

The 2nd period started with 3 on 3 action and Ingersoll managed to contain their tempers and visited the box only once. Three minutes in, Campbell (Lindsay, Arts) found the back of the net for the home team. Many power play opportunities surfaced for the Express but a very long drawn-out period ended with the Dragons leading by 2. Malchesky and Loranger shared net duty.

During the 3rd, twenty penalties were called. Dragons were scoreless this period while Ingersoll’s Lindsay (Campbell) snuck a beauty goal past the net minder with only 2 minutes left in the game.

Outcome: Dragons 4, Express 3

Positives: Both teams embraced the PINK Theme with pink laces & tape, pink dress shirts and ties – thank you
A sincere thank you to the Dragons team for making a team donation of $ 100.00 toward the cause
