Team Butterworths Novice Local League Participates in Paris Wolfpack Tournament
Team Butterworths played hard in the Paris Wolfpack two day tournament January 2 to January 4th. What a great team building experience for the players, coaches and parents.

The first night of the tournament, team Butterworths played Paris 2 team. The first game, was a 7-0 win for Paris 2. It was a tough loss for the Ingersoll team, but they gained some learning experience from it.

Team Butterworths was back in Paris first thing Friday morning for the second game of the tournament. The team was filled with energy and enthusiasm. We faced Paris 1 this time around. The first two periods remained scoreless. Goaltender #1 M. Cudney made some amazing saves. All the team was passing and playing positions. Two minutes into the third period, #11 A. Lahey passed the puck to #9 R. Wolfe to score the first goal of the game. One minute later, #12 J. Kloepfer fired the puck into the net to make the score 2-0. Team Butterworths worked hard to prevent the Paris 1 team from taking the advantage. Final score 2-0 for Team Butterworths. Shutout for #1 M. Cudney! Great job team!

After a nice break in the day, Team Butterworths played their final game of the tournament against Paris 3. Seventy seconds into the first period, #16 E. Cuthbert carried the puck into the Paris zone and scored. Team Butterworths showed their strengths defensively by holding off the Paris 3 team from scoring throughout the rest of the game. It wasn't until thirty seconds left in the third period that Paris 3 tied the game up. Final score 1-1 tie.

The kids learned a bunch from this experience. They were more than happy munching on the tournament supplied pizza before driving back home. We are very grateful to our coaches for all the hardwork they have put into our successful 2013-2014 hockey season.
