Game #7 - Express secure first victory of the season
A rescheduled game found us at our home barn on a Monday evening for a tilt with the Plattsville Rage. Tanner Belore was in the net for the Express who were looking to secure their first win of the season.

It did not take long to take the lead, as we immediately gained the zone from puck drop, and a juicy rebound landed right on the stick of Noah Muller who deposited into the wide-open cage, with only nine ticks of the clock. Credited with apples were Alex Stratton and Robbie Allen, who just returned to the lineup tonight after a two-game hiatus. We would continue to press the visitors until Ethan Cuthbert unleased a shot that was behind the netminder before he even knew it left his stick, giving Carmeuse a 2-0 lead. That would be short lived as Plattsville would score on a laser beam of a wrist shot of their own seven seconds later, top shelf. We took the lead into the end change up 2-1.

We would continue to force the play all game as the boys could taste victory early and did not want to let this opportunity slip away. Cuthbert would regain our two-goal cushion finding a hole, top shelf just over the goalie's shoulder, with Owen Clarke setting up the goal. Plattsville would find themselves on the powerplay after Cuthbert was charged with a cross-check and scored, making this a one goal contest. But before the period ended, Cuthbert would find his name on the scoresheet again, this time with an assist as Aaron Lahey made it 4-2, just getting the puck over the pad of the Rage netminder.

With victory within their sites, Ingersoll played a strong third period, and were rewarded halfway through the frame as Cam Freeman buried our fifth goal of the contest after a nice feed by Clarke, who put it right on the tape. Ryan Condotta, who started the play by gaining the offensive zone was credited with the assist. With a sigh of relief these boys finally got the win they deserved and needed. Belore did a great job keeping the rubber out of our net all evening and was the winning goalie tonight.

The boys get a break until Saturday, when they host Tillsonburg at the Madhouse on Mutual. Congratulations to the team and the coaching staff for this well-earned victory.
