Game 6 - Express hang tough vs Norwich
The U18 Rep C boys got back to league play last night as they hosted the Norwich Knighthawks for a Saturday night tilt. The Express called on Brandon Plaquet to man the net as they looked for their first win of the season.

The boys had a tough first period as they just could not seem to get anything going, and Norwich took advantage of that by pressing hard, but the boys stood tall and weathered the storm as a bit of luck, and a lot of fine saves by our netminder allowed us to escape the period only down 1-0

The second period was much better as you could see some life out of our boys, and while Norwich had a 2-0 lead, they were sent to the box on a charging call and the Express got to enjoy a powerplay. Of the draw, Jonah Martire was able to draw it back to Andrew Power who ripped a low shot through the crowd and into the back of the cage, pulling us within 1. We were able to kill a 4 minute head shot penalty, which gave the boys some life, until Norwich found a seam and were able to go end to end and go high backhand on us to restore their two goal cushion. However, there is no quit in these boys and we made it a one goal contest once again as Luke DeWit tickled the twine on a feed from Aaron Lahey late in the frame, and we had a game heading into the third.

The third was a back-and-forth affair as the teams exchanged quality scoring chances, but both netminders were up to the challenge. Norwich would get a late opportunity on the power play and scored sealing our fate for the evening, but certainly as a spectator you could not argue that the effort was there tonight from our entire squad..

We will get another crack at a win Monday as we host Plattsville.

On another note, Logan Pare is getting closer to a return from a shoulder injury, and according to the gamesheet, Robbie Allen's two game suspension is over giving us another talented player back in the lineup. Best of luck Monday Carmeuse Lime.
