Game#3 Ingersoll Express Novice Tier 1 vs Strathroy Jr Rockets
Day 2 of the tournament and we know we need to play our best today. We have watched the competitors and know how good the other 29 teams in the tournament are.
With the winter storm hitting the region our Express made the way back to Simcoe.
Our opponent, The Rockets are 0-2 to start the tournament and are ready to blast off against the Express. They get right to work and apply the pressure on our defense. Levon Medeiros is battling down low with his D partner Chris Brekelmans. They clear the puck but the Rockets come right back into the zone and take the early lead. Our defensive play is being put to the test. Strathroy keeps springing their players on breakaways. Owen as he does stands tall. We are now down 2-0 and are in need of a confidence boost. The team looks down the bench to our leadership group. Kohen Cameron receives a well placed pass from Charlotte Baker. The puck is picked up by Kaelan Howard who makes a dirty dangle to cut the deficit in half. It's 2-1 and need to apply the pressure.
The clock seems to be ticking too fast for us to complete the comeback. Adriaan Bes decides to make a little magic. He halts the clocks with a low back hand beating the goalie short side! With a big fist pump looking back at the bench he tries to get the squad fired up with the fly by. The teams exchange chances but it's a little to late to get the W. The team has to be happy to salvage the much needed point.
