Titans Defeat Juvenile Express
A short staffed Ingersoll Carmeuse Lime Express Juvenile rep travelled to Tavistock on Tuesday night for the second game of the Beechey juvenile league playoffs where Tavistock would come out on top in a 5-3 score.

Due to carry over suspensions from the last game of the regular season and other various reasons, the Express were only able to dress 10 skaters for the game including two midget call ups (Parker Hodgson and Eric Franklin).  Due being so short staffed, backup goalie Ryan Calder dressed as a forward for the game.

A good effort by the Express and strong goaltending by Ingersoll’s James Allison would see the first period end with no goals scored by either team.  Tavistock however would find the back of the net three times in the second period to take a 3-0 lead after two periods.  Ingersoll would get within 2 goals with 9:39 left in the third with Hayden Synders scoring with assists from Parker Hodgson and Christian Johnston.  However Tavistock would score 45 seconds later to restore their three goal lead.  With 4:38 left in the third, Parker Hodgson would set up Ryan Calder who beat the Tavistock goal through the five hole to record is first goal in about 10 years since he has been playing goal for most of those ten years.  Tavistock would score their 5th goal with 3:21 left before Christian Johnston would round out the scoring with 45 seconds left in the third period.  Parker Hodgson would get his third assist of the game on Johnston’s goal.

Despite the loss, head coach Ken Zegers was extremely pleased with the effort given how short staffed the team was.

The Express should have a full roster when the host they Woolwich Wildcats on Saturday night in game 3 of their second round OMHA playdown series.  Game time is 9:00 pm. The teams will then return to Elmira on Sunday for game 4 at 6:30 pm.
