Express Move into FIrst With 8-0 Shutout Win over Burford
Seven different goal scorers and another shutout for Dawson Sharpe highlighted the Express victory at home over the visiting Burford Bulldogs and sent the Shooter's Photography Midget LL team into first overall.

A first period goal by Austin Brunelle with just 1:27 gone opened the scoring for the home side. Brunelle would pick up a loose puck off to the right of the Burford net after the first shot by Matt Molnar was save. Despite a number of chances the Express took a 1-0 lead into the second.

A four goal barrage in the second was started by two goals in 0:14 seconds. Max Branderhorst extended the lead to 2-0 just 0:46 seconds into the period. The play was set up by a nice low wrist shot from Braden Wright at the point. Wright's shot was tipped by Alex Schuett but his tip was stopped by the Burford netminder. The rebound came right to Branderhorst who flipped it upstairs for the goal. Matt Molnar would score right after as the puck was sent in behind the Bulldog net by Tyler Bergman. Molnar would steal the puck from the Bulldog defenceman and tuck a wrap around between the goalie and the post. Molnar would get his second of the frame five minutes later when he buried a rebound just under the crossbar. Wright picked up his second assist and Brendan Aarts would get the other assist. Aarts would close out the scoring in the second when he let a wrist shot from the point go that beat the Burford goalie clean on the glove side.

Ingersoll would add three more goals in the third. Aarts would lead a rush into the Bulldog zone and drive the net where Wright would take a pass and beat the Bulldog goalie. Dylan Daltrey would put the express up by seven when a nice passing play from Branderhorst and Daniel Pullen had the Burford defence lose sight of Daltrey. Branderhorst hit Daltrey with a nice cross seam pass and Daltrey put the puck into the wide open net. Ben Scott would round out the scoring with 0:19 seconds left in the game when he picked off another Burford turnover and fired a wrist shot into the net.

The Express take on a tougher opponent in the Delhi Rockets tomorrow night at 9:15 in Ingersoll.
