Express vs Tornados (Team 1)
Did the third game leave us with a W?

Thanksgiving Sunday was a gorgeous day for hockey and had the Pewee LL1 team (sponsored  by Vision Property Management) on the road to Tillsonburg to take on the Tillsonburg Tornados (Team 3) for game 3 of the season.

First period they came out with fire in their souls wanting the W so bad. The second shot of the game landed in the Tornados net taken by the Express team at only 11 seconds into the game. That  shot was taken by number 18 (Owen Deal) and assisted by number 9 (Brandt Kloepfer). The period was well played by the whole Express team and ended with only 32.4 seconds left with our second goal by number 5 (Parker Cook) assisted by number 18 (Owen Deal)

First period ended with the Express taking 11 shots on the net and the Tornados only getting 5 shots on our goalie.

Entering the second period with a 2-0 lead the period brought A LOT of action, the teams were back and forth during this period leaving the team tired but not going without a fight. The first penalty of the game was handed to Tillsonburg at 6:01 for interference. Quickly following that at 5:33 number 16 (Owen Nigh) received a penalty for body contact. That would not be the end though as we had another penalty following him at 5:19 by number 11 (Travis Newell) for tripping and to round off the period Tillsonburg received there second penalty at 2:29 for body contact as well. With 2 players in the box with only .04 seconds left of the penalty Tillsonburg scored their first goal at 3:37. We came back finishing the period with 2 goals first by number 5 (Parker Cook) with his second goal of the game assisted again by number 18 (Owen Deal) at 1:53 and our final goal of the period coming from number 9 (Brandt Kloepfer) assisted by number 6 (Lucas Folkema) at 1:01

The second period had Ingersoll taking 7 shots on the Tornados goalie and receiving a total of 10 shots on net.

Beginning of the third period the score was sitting at 4-1 for the Express team. Both teams came out strong and for some reason we just could not get out of our end. Goalie (Graeme Arthur) took more then his share of breakaway shots this game and did a fantastic job under pressure. Tillsonburg had many shots, rebounds and chances and left the period with 3 more goals. one at 7:33, second at 4:13 and to end the period they got the last goal of the game with 2:40 left in the period.

Shots on net were as follows; Tillsonburg goalie received only 6 shots with our net taking 13.

At the end of the game Tillsonburg just outplayed us in the third period. It was the most intense game of the 3 by far and these boys are really getting in the grove of playing with each other and learning the habits and traits of the other players on the team. If they continue to play this hard and with this much fire our first win is in the near horizon. This is going to be a good year of hockey!

The game ended with a tied score 4-4.

in net throughout the game was number 1 (Graeme Arthur)
