Game #4 QF's OMHA Playdowns - Express advance in convincing fashion
After a long car ride home last night, wondering what could have been after a tough one goal loss, the boys had no choice to regroup at home, and it was probably better for them to get right back in saddle, rather than stew over what was clearly not the boys best effort.

Back in net was Tanner Belore, looking to bounce back after a tough loss, and that he did just that,  in fine fashion i may add. Once puck drop it was evident that the blue collar boys were ready to skate. Everyone did their part tonight playing with passion and desire to end this series tonight. Ingersoll would have a couple of great chances early, but could not seal the deal. Niagara did march right back down, and get a great scoring opportunity, but Belore was set, and played with a confidence knowing his entire team had his back. It would not be long after those big saves that the Express repaid their netminder as Alex Stratton scored a fine goal after a strong effort behind the net by Tyler Fleming and Eli North, to find Stratton all alone in front of the Wolves net.... and we were off to the races. The period would end with us up 1-0, but you could just tell that tonight was going to be our night, as the team from Niagara, did not have an answer for our tenacious play.

Period two would see the Express score three more unanswered goals. Firstly, a great individual effort by
Ryan Condotta found a leg belonging to his linemate Taylor Murray, who netted goal two, after the puck ricocheted of a Wolves defender. Eli North would extend the lead to three after Brody Huitema made a nice feed to his center, who had a heck of a game tonight. Last, but certainly not least, Mason Durham shot a perfectly placed puck past what seemed to be the entire population of Ingersoll in front of the Wolves net, after Jeremy Stiles found his defenceman wide open at the point. We would head into the final frame with a 4-0 lead.

Knowing it was in their best interest to keep their foot on the gas, Cole McNeil carriied the puck all the way down into the NOTL zone, and found Eli North who saw Tyler Fleming on the doorstep and he deposited the puck behind the goaltender, and we were starting to feel pretty good now up by 5. NOTL, tried to make a push, and a high wrister, that Belore had in his trapper, handcuffed him a bit and fell out and then in behind him, for their only goal of the game. Belore deserved a better fate to lose the shutout, but his strong play throughout the game certainly set the tone for the entire match. Tyler would close out the scoring on a tap in after a great effort by North to get it to the net. Final score was 6-1, and sealed the series win for the Express. We now await our next opponent, the winner of Lambeth vs Strathroy. Either squad is going to give our boys a hell of a series, so stay tuned and get out to support these boys if you can. Their style of play is infectious, and extremely entertaining. Congrats boys on a well deserved series win. See you all Thursday in Caledonia.
