All Good Things Must Come to an End - Game 5
The PeeWee A/E boys brought their 4-0 record into Norwich Thursday night to play the winless Knighthawks. It did not start well as Norwich lit the lamp only 9 seconds into the period. The boys would tie the game at the 7:19 mark with Tyler Fleming scoring on a nice feed from Taylor Murray. However, the lead was relinquished back to Norwich only 10 seconds later, making it a 2-1 contest. Norwich would add another before the end of the frame making it 3-1 after 1.
In the second, a great individual effort by Ryan Condotta, got us within 1. Norwich only skating 10, were starting to show some signs of fatigue, but the boys in their sharp new red jerseys could not muster up a goal. A night of bad bounces haunted the express once again the the late stages of the frame and Norwich slid one behind Tanner Belore to make it 4-2.
The third started out as vintage Express. A hard forecheck in the Norwich zone for long periods of time did not bare fruit. Later in the frame, Cole McNeil rushed in after a loose puck to beat the netminder, but not the post, keeping us down by 2. A late empty netter sealed our fate an the final score ended 5-2, bring to an end a nice run of wins. Tanner Belore played a solid game, and the boys should see this as an opportunity to work on their game as Norwich played an aggressive style of hockey, our boys had yet to see in this early part of the season. On to St.Mary's for our first tournament game vs Ilderton. Good Luck Express this weekend.!!
