The boys are back in town - Game #3
Our Peewee Express A/E squad returned home Tuesday to face their arch rivals from Ayr. As we are starting to grow accustom to, our boys pressed the pace for most of the period. Even though the home squad threw a lot of rubber at the opposing goaltender, the period came to an end as quickly as it began due to a fast pace and minimal stoppages. Score after 1 remained at 0-0.

In the 2nd, a fortunate bounce of the puck found defenceman Cole McNeil's stick, who took a shot through traffic. After a mad scramble, Ethan Kish was able to bury it past the Ayr Netminder for a 1-0 lead. With the puck drop at center ice, the visitors won the draw and marched down the ice and scored just 8 seconds after our goal to tie the contest at 1-1. It did not take long for the boys to realize that they took their foot off the gas, and regained their 1 goal margin 16 seconds later when Tyler Fleming put it on the stick of a streaking Kian Brown who buried a low hard shot past the stunned Flames squad.

The third period, is where our boys skill and perseverance really shone.  Ryan Condotta scored twice in a span of 20 seconds, the first on a beautiful feed from Owen Clarke, after Taylor Murray started the play. The second goal Murray was involved again with another feed to Condotta who was again in the right place at the right time. All started by a smart play with the puck from Logan Pare. The passing displayed by the boys in the third frame was impressive, and looked like a team that had played together for much longer than they actually have.

Tanner Belore played another solid game between the pipes, as the Express outshot their opponents 25 - 16. Another strong effort from the defensive core, and the blue collar mentality of our forward lines is starting to pay dividends.  This brand of Express hockey is fun to watch and the game plan that was executed by the coaching staff is being delivered by our boys. Next game action is Tuesday the 15th at home vs Aylmer. All aboard the Express train, and Happy Thanksgiving to you all!!
