02-17-2019 Carmeuse Lime Tame the Wolfpack
Two goals by Caleb Clifford and an outstanding performance in net by Dawson Sharpe helped to propel the Carmeuse Lime LL#2 team past the visiting Paris Wolfpack 4-0.

The home side had their foot on the gas right from the opening faceoff when Nolan Costa picked up the puck and danced into to the Paris zone forcing the Wolfpack goalie into a good save just seconds into the game. Ingersoll would keep the pressure on just moments later when Brydon Johnson jumped on a rebound chance but couldn't be the goalie. The visitors would regain their composure a little and apply some minor pressure of their own but Sharpe made a nice arm save to keep the game scoreless. The Express would up the pressure again in the last few seconds of the first. Some hard offensive work by the home team led to Colin VanDyk being left alone at the point. VanDyk let a shot go that found it's way through a maze of traffic in front of the Paris net and squirted out to the side where Clifford would redirect the puck, with 0:14 left in the period, up top for his first goal of the game.

Ingersoll managed to work through the early Wolfpack pressure to start the second and a nice three way passing play between Luke Heather, Clifford, and Johnson led to another golden scoring chance that Johnson just missed. Then with just under 5:00 minutes left in the period Clifford would feed a nice pass to Paul Sperry. Sperry's initial shot was stopped but a rebound came back to Sperry who continued to bang away at the puck. Sperry's effort would be rewarded when Clifford would pick up the loose puck and give the Express a two - goal lead heading into the third.

The third period saw Sharpe take over and hold the visitors off the scoreboard. Sharpe stopped Paris on a breakaway and a follow up rebound shot. When the visitors did manage to beat Sharpe with a shot they would find a couple of goalposts and the rebounds would be immediately cleared by the Express defensive zone coverage. Daniel Martineau would pad the home sides lead with just over a minute left when he fired a wrist shot from the right point that caught a Paris stick and beat the goalie top corner glove side. Ingersoll would round out the scoring with seconds left in the game when Shaun Holt, who was taking a beating by the Paris net, banged a loose puck home to send the Express on to the 4-0 win.

The Carmeuse Lime side sits in 4th place currently one point behind the Paris #3 team, but Ingersoll has a couple of games in hand.
