11-10-2018 Express Third Period Collapse Gives Six Nations Easy Win
Two decent periods of hockey and numerous powerplay opportunities went wasted as the Ingersoll Carmeuse Lime LL#2 Midget team ran out of gas in the third and watched as the Six Nation Blackhawks #2 skated to a 6-0 victory at home.

The Express had opportunities in the first period as the home side took two minor penalties in the opening frame. Ingersoll generated some good scoring chances on the first powerplay with the best opportunity coming off the stick of Nolan Costa who outworked the Blackhawks defence and fired a shot that forced the goalie into a good save. The rebound would land on the stick of Evan Wade who fired the puck right into the goalie's midsection.

Ingersoll would not be so lucky on the second powerplay of the period as the Blackhawks kept the Express pinned in their own end with some excellent penalty killing and forcing Express goalie Dawson Sharpe into an excellent glove save which kept the game scoreless heading into the second.

The Express would get another powerplay 2:59 into the second but once again they found themselves struggling with the man advantage. This eventually caught up with the visitors as shortly after killing of their third penalty the  Blackhawks would open the scoring  to go up 1-0. Six Nations would double the lead just under 2:00 minutes later and would keep the pressure on the Express forcing Sharpe into a number of good saves to keep the game close going into the third.

The visitors would lose their skating legs in the third and this allowed the Blackhawks to capitalize four more times on some sloppy play by the Express in their own end. Ingersoll was unable to capitalize on any of their 6 powerplay opportunities and the Blackhawks would skate away with the 6-0 victory.
