Looking to finish strong
Upon returning from the Christmas break, the Canadian Tire Atom LL team was happy to have made the Atom B division among strong competition in the 1st half of the season.  However, being the last team to make the cut for this division, our boys knew the road ahead would not be an easy one.

The month of January saw our team struggle with our first competitors and our players had to suffer quite a few losses.

Our first game back saw us lose to Belmont 7-3 in our exhibition game during the Carmeuse Invitational tournament.  The boys played a hard game, not giving up at any moment, despite Belmont's strong offensive team.

On January 19th, during a blustery snow storm, our Canadian Tire Atom LL team traveled to Ohsweken to take on their Six Nations team.  Short a few players due to the storm, our boys only managed to get one past the Six Nations goalie with a 6-1 loss on the books.  The following day saw our boys take the road again, this time to play the Paris Wolfpack.  Our players pulled together and played a great game against this strong opponent.  Owen F (#12) scored our only goal of the game, but unfortunately, we could not get the upper hand and lost 3 to 1.

On the weekend of the 25th of January, our team ventured off to the Henderson Pharmacy Hockey Tournament in Thorold.  The boys were excited to travel to Niagara Falls to play in their final tournament of the year.  During the four games played, our team of young men saw some excellent play with four very competitive teams.  Some defeats were worse than others, however, this tournament saw our boys come together as teammates when they bonded over team dinners and down time in the pool.

Our last game in January came one day back from our tournament.  The Langton Leafs traveled to Ingersoll on a Monday evening to see their team defeated 5-0 by our Ingersoll Express team.  Evan Young played an excellent game, snagging his 3rd shutout of the year.  This game also saw Camden Norris (#10) score his 1st ever goal.  Way to go Camden!!  The other four goals went to Sheldon Whittingham, Travis Newell, Mason Durham and Owen F.
