Triumph and Loss
Canadian Tire's Atom LL experienced a week of triumph and loss.

On Saturday Oct 20th, the team took on Tilsonburg 2 in their second game of the year.  Coming off a loss against Tilsonburg 1 last week the team was determined to do better.  Ingersoll came on strong right from the get go with Mason Durham (#5) scoring the 1st goal unassisted.  Our 2nd goal came a short time later with #9's Sheldon Whittingham picking up a rebound shot.  The final score would be made by Ingersoll's #14, Brody Van Leeuwen, assisted by #12 Owen.  The defensive team worked their magic and kept the puck away from their goaltender who was once again solid between the pipes, netting himself his 1st shutout of the season with a 3-0 win.

Unfortunately, the team struggled more when they faced Burford 1 this morning.  The beginning of the game looked promising with Ingersoll scoring the 1st two goals within the 1st 5 minutes of the game.  Goals where scored by Ingersoll's #5 and 11 respectively with assists going to #12, 17 and 9.  Burford 1 responded by scoring three goals by the end of the 1st.  The team struggled to get their footing back and couldn't manage to control rebounds allowing Burford to take the upper hand resulting in a 9-2 loss.

The boys are looking forward to the excitement of their 1st tournament next weekend in Strathroy.  Go Express Go!
