Titans Take 2-1 Series Lead over Juvenile Express With Overtime Win
For the second game in row, the Tavistock Titans beat the Ingersoll Carmeuse Lime Express Juvenile rep team in overtime, this time by a 4-3 score to take a 2-1 series lead.

Ingersoll would score the opening goal with 2:04 remaining in the first period on a great individual effort by Qwertay Dei as he used his speed to beat the Tavistock defence to break in all alone before deking the Tavistock goalie to give Ingersoll a 1-0 lead which held up until the end of the period.

Early in the second period, Tavistock would gain control of the puck in the Express end and would eventually score on a screen shot from the top of the faceoff circle to tie the game at 1-1 with 12:58 left in the second.  Ingersoll would regain the lead with 10:44 in the second when Qwertay Die would push the puck forward from a faceoff in the Titans zone and then feed a perfect pass to Caleb Schaap alone at the side of the Tavistock net who would score to put the Express up 2-1.  However with 2:05 left in the second, the Titans would block a shot at their blue line that led to a breakaway goal to tie the game at 2-2 after the second period.

In the third period, Ingersoll would regain the lead when Hayden Synders dropped a pass to Ethan Hurst who blasted a one-time slapshot from the top of the faceoff circle past the Titans goalie to put Ingersoll up 3-2 with 11:27 left in the third.  With 3:43 left in the third, Tavistock would tie the score on a screen shot from the point that found the back of the net and send the game to overtime for the second straight game.

The game would go deep into the 10:00 minute overtime period as both teams had chances to win.  Tavistock would ring shots of the crossbar and post and Ingersoll also had chances but were unable to find the back of the net.  With 1:05 left in the overtime period, a point shot by a Tavistock defenceman would carom of the backboards right to an open winger at the side of the Express net who put home the winning goal to put Tavistock up 2 games to 1.

The intensity in this series was ratcheted up this weekend with two extremely close games between two evenly match teams.  Next game is Saturday February 9th in Ingersoll at 8:30 pm.  If game five it needed, it will be next Sunday in Tavistock at 1:20 pm.
