The Ingersoll Carmeuse Lime Express Juvenile rep team travelled
to Glanbrook on Saturday night where the Rangers would come out on top in a 4-2
score.
The game would start off on the right foot for the Express as on a power play Kirk Meek from behind the Glanbrook net would feed Qwertay Dei in the left faceoff circle who would rip a shot low to the blocker side to beat the Glanbrook goalie to give Ingersoll a 1-0 lead with 4:57 left in the first period. However with 1:00 left in the first period, Glanbrook score on a wraparound goal to tie the game 1-1.
In the second period, Glanbrook would score two unanswered goals. The first goal as a well executed 2 on 1 by the Rangers. With 3:50 left in the period, Glanbrook would score a power play goal on a hard shot that from a Rangers defenceman that Express goalie James Allison got a good piece of but would just trickle past him over the goal line that gave the Rangers a 3-1 lead after the two periods.
Halfway through the third period, Ryan Cooper would absorb a hard hit inside the Glanbrook blue line that allowed Eric Savoie to pick up a loose puck and put it past the Rangers goalie to bring the Express within a goal. However a turnover in the neutral zone by the Express would allow the Rangers to break in and fire a shot off the post and into the net to give the Rangers a two goal lead with 3:55 left in the game. There would be no more scoring in the game as the Rangers skated off with a 4-2 win.
Ingersoll will travel to Tavistock on Sunday for a 1:20 pm start in the first game of a six point OMHA series.
