Express vs Tavistock
On Nov 7th, the Dove Dental boys headed to Tavistock for their 2nd meeting of the season.
Tavistock was able to open the scoring in the 1st period. However at 7:27 #5 C. Hughes went into Tavistock end 2 on 1 with #17 E. Cuthbert. Hughes passed the puck to Cuthbert who took a shot, grabbed his own rebound & found the back of the net. Shots on goal would be even, and period 1 ended tied 1-1.
Period 2 had lots of back & forth action. After a questionable call, #17 C. McNeil had a penalty shot. Despite a great shot, the Tavistock goalie was able to keep it out of the net. Period 2 ended tied 1-1.
Period 3 had some exciting action. At 12:07 the Express were able to break the tie. #6 T. Murray teamed up with #9 N. Muller to net the 2nd of the game. Shortly after Tavistock broke out on a breakaway. #1 C. Belore would stand tall & made a beauty of a save by flashing his glove. Belore made many beautiful glove saves the entire game. Tavistock would put 2 on the board to pull ahead by one. Not giving up, Express would tie it up again with 1:01 left. #18 C. McNeil would make a pass to #6 T. Murray who would put it past the goalie for his 2nd point of the night. Express put the pressure on, but couldn't get another goal.
