Peewee Express Travel to Caledonia
On Wednesday January 8th, our Ingersoll Express Peewee Ponting Financial Group would travel to Caledonia to play the Thunder in their 2nd playoff game. Puck drop was 8:15pm.
After a hard fought battle with the Thunder on Saturday, Ingersoll knew what they were up against. It would be the Thunder that would take the early lead in the 1st period, with a goal at the 6:19 mark of the 1st period. Ingersoll would answer back just 2 minutes later on a goal from Nick Yoworski, assisted by Westin Matsumoto and Ty Shapton. This goal would tie the game 1-1 heading into the 2nd period. Again, it would be Caledonia to take a 2-1 lead early into the 2nd period. Caledonia would take a 3-1 lead with just over 4 minutes left in the 2nd period. However, with just under 3 minutes left in the 2nd period, Ingersoll's Luke Dewitt would score to pull Ingersoll within 1, assisted by Jonah Martire and Matsumoto. Unfortunately, Caledonia would score again before the end of the period taking a 4-2 lead into, what would be a scoreless 3rd period and Ingersoll would lose another hard fought game 4-2.
The Ingersoll Express Boys will not get much rest before hitting the ice again tonight when the Paris Wolves come to town for game three of the boys playoff round.
