Peewee Rep Express Participate in Bill Batton Memorial Tournament
Over the weekend, the Ponting Financial Group Peewee Rep team, travelled back and forth to Exeter to participate in the Bill Batton Memorial Tournament.


Minto would be our first opponent on Friday afternoon.  The scoring would start in the 2nd period, however, it would be Minto that would take an early 2-0 lead in the 2nd period.  Ingersoll would make the score 2-1 in the 2nd period with only 50 seconds left on the clock on a goal from Colton Macpherson, assisted by Ryan Wolfe.  Express forward, Wyatt Thompson, would tie the game 2-2, assisted by Macpherson at the 8:41 mark of the 3rd period.  Minto would take a 3-2 lead less than a minute later.  Our Express boys would continue to pressure but to no avail, losing game 1, 3-2.  
Game 2, would be later that afternoon against Waterford.  Nick Yoworski would start the scoring for Ingersoll in this game at the 6:05 mark of the 1st period, assisted by Thompson.  Thirty seconds later, blue liner, Nate Pike would give his team a 2-0 lead, assisted by Westin Matsumoto and Ty Shapton.  Midway through the 2nd period, Yoworski would strike again with help from Matsumoto and Thompson.  Jonah Martire would give Ingersoll a 4-0 lead, assisted by Shapton and Macpherson.  Dylan Craib, just 30 seconds later, assisted by Luke Dewitt and Matsumoto would increase the lead to 5-0.  Waterford would get on the board with one minute left in the 2nd period, giving Ingersoll a 5-1 lead heading into the 3rd period.  Waterford would strike first in the 3rd period pulling within 3 goals with lots of hockey left.  Answering right back would be Martire, assisted by Shapton and Macpherson.  Shapton, with 3:30 left in the game would give Ingersoll a 7-2 lead, assisted by Brody Williams.  Thompson would give Ingersoll an 8-2 lead on a rebound on a shot from Pike on the point, with only a minute left in the 3rd period.  Ingersoll would record a 8-2 victory.
Our Express boys would hit the ice again on Saturday afternoon to face host team South Huron.  South Huron would take the first lead, midway through the 1st period.  Ingersoll's Williams would get a shot through from the point and it would be Thompson to bury the rebound, tying the game 1-1 with 5:20 left in the 2nd period.  South Huron would take the lead in the 3rd period and although Ingersoll would continue to battle they could not get one past the South Huron goalie, losing 2-1.
Ingersoll would return to Exeter on Sunday morning to play Lambeth.  The Ingersoll boys would get on the board first in the 1st period with 3:33 left on the clock on a goal by Shapton, assisted by Martire.  It would be a short lived lead, as Lambeth would answer right back to tie the game 1-1.  Lambeth would score 2 more goals in the 3rd period to take a 3-1 victory over the Ingersoll Express.
The boys will return to regular season play on Thursday November 8th, when the Tillsonburg Tornadoes will roll into town, puck drops at 7:10pm
