Peewee Rep Boys Tie Warriors
As the Peewee Ponting Financial Group Rep team returned home on Thursday, they would be met by the Simcoe Warriors.
This home game would prove to be a tough battle. The first period would be a testing of the waters as neither team could get on the scoreboard. Then at the 7:25 mark of the second period it would be Simcoe on the board first, however, Ingersoll would answer back 3 minutes later as blue liner Nate Pike would get a hard shot through on net and Dylan Craib would get a shot off the rebound but it would be Luke Dewitt who would bang in the goal for Ingersoll to tie the game 1-1. Less than a minute into the 3rd period, Ingersoll would take a 2-1 lead on a goal from Wyatt Thompson, assisted by Nick Yoworski and Brody Williams. Simcoe would answer right back squaring the game at 2 a piece. Ingersoll would regain the lead on a shot from Thompson that Ty Shapton would redirect past the Simcoe goalie. The Warriors would not quite quickly knotting the game at 3, with just over 3 minutes left to play in the game. Both teams would battle to take the lead but to no avail and the game would end in a 3-3 tie.
The Ingersoll team will travel to Belleville in the morning to participate in the Prince Edward County MILK Rep Tournament. They will play Friday at 1:45pm against Dorchester and 5:00pm against league rival Caledonia. They will hit the ice on Saturday at 2:00pm to play host team Prince Edward County.
