The Novice LL2 Butterworths have had a
successful second half of the season where they finished with a record of 10
wins and 2 losses. This earned them a tie for first place with Delhi but Butterworths
were awarded first place, giving them home ice advantage for the playoffs.
In February, Butterworths played Burford, winning 11-0. Next was Delhi, in a real close game but Butterworths were able to squeak out a win of 3-2. Butterworths welcomed Simcoe to Ingersoll the next week with a 6-0 win. A week later Norwich came to Ingersoll and gave Ingersoll Butterworths its first loss of 3-2. Ingersoll then travelled to Embro for an exhibition game and ended up winning 3-1. The following day Ingersoll travelled to Norwich to avenge their only loss. Butterworths were able to come out on top with a score of 2-1. Butterworths would then face Delhi in Ingersoll in a nail biter game. Delhi was able to give Ingersoll their second loss with a score of 4-1. Six days later Butterworths would travel to Delhi for their second last game of the season. Butterworths played hard and ended up winning the game 4-1. Ingersoll Butterworths then travelled to Burford for their last regular season game. Butterworths played a strong game and won the game with a score of 3-1.
The semi-final game was a one game win and go to the finals or lose and be done. Norwich came to Ingersoll for their semi-final game. The first two periods were close with one goal difference. Third period Butterworths were able to open up the lead, thanks to a whole team effort. Butterworths ended up winning 7-1. Now Butterworths will play Delhi in a best of 3 series starting March 22 at 6pm in Ingersoll. Butterworths will also be travelling to Huntsville for a tournament this coming weekend, March 16, 17,18.
