The Express made the journey down highway 19 to Play a very game Tillsonburg team. With only 9 skaters dressing for action Ingersoll had their work cut out.
Tillsonburg came hard out the gate firing on all cylinders. Goalie Ben Baker was tested early and often but was up to the task. Ingersoll had their chances put the puck found the skinny red defender more times than they would of cared for. After the first period Tillsonburg was up 3 -0.
Ingersoll came out strong in the second highlighted by strong defensive play by Owen Fedy. Owen patroleld teh blue line with authority and was constantly pressuring the Tillsonburg forwards. Ben continued to make great saves and keep the Ingersoll team in the game. The start of the third period say Ingersoll trailing 4-0. The Express continued to push and show their heart with many scoring chances and gritty play. Carter Skevington would find the back of the net mid way through the third to put Ingersoll on the board.
Tillsonburg would continue push the Express team hard but their was no backing down. Ingersoll made it interesting with an onslaught of shots late in the third but Tillsonburg stood their ground on home ice and closed out a 6-1 win for their team.
The boys battled all game but unfortunately all the bounces went Tillsonburgs way. Great effort Express you all showed a never give up attitude, well done.
