The first round of OMHA Playdowns would see the Ingersoll Peewee Rep Ponting Financial Group match up with the Paris Wolf Pack.
Game #1 would be played in Paris and although the Wolf Pack would sit higher in the standings that would not stop the Express train from rolling into town. Paris would pull ahead 2-0 early in the second period. However, Ingersoll’s Emmett Gedies would score assisted by Nick Yoworski and Jack Brown to pull within 1. Geddies would score to tie the game at 2 early in the 3rd period assisted by Yoworski. 50 seconds later it would be Yoworski to net the go ahead goal, assisted by Geddies. Paris would answer back to tie the game 3-3. Ingersoll was not done putting the puck in the net, Myles Martin, assisted by Willie Parsons would make the score 4-3 with 7:30 left in the 3rd. Paris would find a way to tie the game with 3:17 left in the 3rd period, forcing this game into an overtime period. Geddies would score his hat trick goal, unassisted, 40 seconds into the overtime period, giving Ingersoll a 1-0 series lead.
Game #2 would be in Ingersoll and it would be the Wolf Pack to strike first early in the 1st period. Early in the 2nd period, Jaxson Vandevenne would score unassisted to tie the game 1-1. With 2:30 left on the clock in the 2nd period there would be a flurry of scoring started by Geddies to give his team a 2-1 lead. Paris would answer back one minute later with 2 quick goals to pull ahead 3-2. Dylan Condotta, assisted by Tyler Watts and Ty Shapton, would tie the game 3-3 with 27 seconds left on the clock in the 2nd period. Paris would come out strong in the 3rd scoring 3 goals to make the score 6-3. Shapton would score with 3:41 left in the 3rd assisstd by Watts, making the score 6-4. Paris would answer right back, 7-4. Ingersoll would manage to score one more on an unassisted goal by Myles Martin, making the final score 7-5. The series tied 1-1.
The Express train would roll back into Paris for game 3. It would be Ingersoll on the board first on a goal from Geddies, assisted by Brown half way through the 2nd period. Paris would answer back with 2 goals in the 3rd and would manage to keep Ingersoll off the scoreboard and taking a 2-1 series lead heading back to Ingersoll for game 4.
Game 4 would be a must win for Ingersoll to keep the series alive. Paris would score first early in the 1st period. Ingersoll’s Willie Parsons would tie the game 1-1, when he would bang in a shot from defenseman Carter Aarts. Paris would manage to take a 2-1 lead into the 2ndperiod. Both teams were kept scoreless through the second period. Parsons, assisted by Aarts would tie the game 2-2 early in the 3rdperiod. Paris would go on to score 3 goals in the third, taking a 5-2 lead. Ingersoll would not be able to answer back and Paris would go on to win the series.
