St. Marys LL Tournament
January 5th and 6th, Tirecraft travelled to St. Marys to participate in their LL tournament. What a great tournament and some great hockey games played! The team enjoyed a nice lunch out at Boston Pizza. Thank you Coach Nic for treating the boys!!



The first game was played against St. Marys 2. St. Marys scored the first two goals and then with only 5 seconds remaining in the first period, Tirecrafts #8 Owen Clarke found the back of St. Marys net from a perfect pass from #2 Nathan Kapitor.
Starting the second period was a goal from Tirecrafts #2 Nathan Kapitor and assisted by #8 Owen Clarke to tie the game up. St. Marys managed to find the net again but it wasn't long before Tirecrafts #8 Owen Clarke was to score again assisted by #6 Max Matheson and #7 Gunnar Doyon to again tie up the game. Despite their best efforts to score again, the game ended with the win for St. Marys with a final score of 5-3.

The second game of the tournament was against St. Marys 1. What an exciting game to watch as Tirecraft came to play and was determined to win!!

Opening the scoring was Tirecrafts #8 Owen Clarke with an unassisted goal. St. Marys scored 2 goals before Tirecrafts #8 Owen Clarke scored his second goal assisted by #7 Gunnar Doyon and #9 Kiefer Sim-Currah. With one minute remaining in the first period, Tirecrafts #2 Nathan Kapitor scored assisted by #10 Justin Clarke and #16 Kian Brown. The second period was back and forth action with both teams fighting to find the back of the net. Tirecrafts goalie #1 Graeme Arthur played an amazing game defending his net! Way to go Graeme!! The only goal scored in the second period came from Tirecrafts #16 Kian Brown assisted by #8 Owen Clarke with only one minute remaining, ending the period with Tirecraft ahead 4-2.

Each team managed to score 1 goal a piece in the third period after many shots. Tirecrafts goal was scored by #6 Max Matheson assisted by #10 Justin Clarke ending the game with a final score of 5-3 for Tirecraft.

The final game of the tournament was against St. Marys 3. The boys worked hard and fought right till the very end but despite their efforts were faced with a tough loss with the final score 3-4 for St. Marys.

Tirecrafts first goal was scored by #8 Owen Clarke and assisted by #11 Trevor Hutchison and #16 Kian Brown. Tirecrafts #8 Owen Clarke scored the second goal unassisted. The final goal for the team was by #6 Max Matheson and assisted by #10 Justin Clarke and #2 Nathan Kapitor.
