Lack of scoring to a scoring explosion!!!!
Unfortunately, the Ingersoll Tremblet's YIG Express have been in a scoring slump as of late. It hit the boys at the wrong time, during the OMHA play downs and carried into the southern counties playoffs for a couple of games as well.
The slump, carried through game 3 of the play downs and the boys were eliminated by their rivals from Ayr. The boys returned home for a league playoff game for the first of a home and home against Langton. Looking worn and tired, they were shut out on home ice. They can travelled to Langton two nights later and were able to hit the back of the net on a goal by Tanner Belore with the assist going to Taylor Murray. Langton would score late to have the game end in a 1-1 tie. It was a step in the right direction and a very important point in the standings as the boys headed to St. George for their first meeting of the season.
Well, somebody lit a fire under these boys in St. George as they exploded for 4 goals in the first period leading 4-0 after the first. Goal scorers were Jeremy Stiles, Taylor Murray, Ethan Kish, and Tanner Belore. Assists went to Ryan Gregg, Charlie Ashman, Tyler Fleming, Tanner Belore, Brandon Plaquet , and Kolten Winkworth. In the second the teams traded goals and the boys were up 5-1 after 2 periods. the goal scorer was Jayden Strom. St. Goerge would add two in the third and final was 5-3 for the Ingersoll Tremblett's YIG Express.
The boys have an extended break with a handful of practices coming up. I'm sure the coaches will fine tune the boys so they can be ready for the home stretch of the season.
