We knew going in that this would be a tough game as Port Dover is currently number three in the league.
1st Period started off fast and aggressive and at 8:58 we saw Logan’s first of many saves in the game. By the end of the first Port Dover was leading 5-0.
2nd Period we fought back with multiple attempts on the Port Dover net. Port Dover received the only penalty of the game at 8:34 #7 for cross checking. At 7:20 #19 Blake had a great attempt and at 6:45 # 8 Teddy took another shot at their net. Port Dover didn’t get another goal until 6:26 left in the second. With only 34 seconds left in the period we had another attempt by #17 Kolton.
3rd Period started off with another great save by Logan and some great defense work by #3 Benjamin. At 6:58 #17 Kolton got our first goal of game and prevented a shutout. This was followed by another attempt on Port Dover’s net by #12 Jackson.
Final score was 1-12. Our team played hard and we saw some great defense, lots of fantastic saves by Logan including one where he literally used his head and many attempts on the Port Dover’s net. The game kept the team working hard and also let us know where we can improve.
