Express Go 2-0 in Week One of League Play
With momentum from the Bronze Medal win at the Rep Olympics, the team put up strong home and away victories to start the Southern Counties season in week one.

The home opener on Tuesday night saw the Paris Wolfpack in town, and a balanced team effort by the Express produced the 6-4 win.

The group got off to a quick start as Nate Wilson crashed the net and scored the first goal with assists going to Ben Randall and Brady Lamers. Paris would come back shortly after to tie the game at one. Ben "Buck" Randall would bury the next tally on a solo effort, leaving the Express up 2-1 after period one.

Period two belonged to Ingersoll as they would score two more unanswered goals and go up 4-1 before the frame ended.  Colton Thompson would steal the puck in the neutral zone, make a nifty move past a Wolfpack defender and snap in a beautiful shot past the Paris goalie.  "Willie" Wilson would assist on the play. Strong offensive zone work late in the period saw Maeve Baker slide a seeing eye shot from the high slot for the goal. Douglas Cattrysse would get the helper.

The final frame would see Paris try to make a comeback but the resilient Searles novice reps had an answer each time the Wolfpack would score.  Buck Randall would net his second of the game from Cattrysse, and Brady Lamers finished off the scoring with helpers from Damon Elliott and Marin Popovic.  Strong, complete team effort and great home opener!!!

Wednesday night saw the Express travel to Caledonia for a clash with the Thunder and leave with a 4-1 victory. Right from the opening face off the team would take it to their opponents with Brady Lamers and Ben Randall having big nights!  Lamers was on fire, scoring all four goals, all being assisted by Buck.  Other assists would go to Nate Wilson and Maeve Baker.  Tyson Weber, Nathan Muller, Brody Fuller, Damon Elliott and Colton Thompson all did a wonderful job adapting to the larger ice surface, keeping the Thunder forwards at bay.  Nolan Crane was solid again between the pipes in this one.

Great first week of the season!
