Bronze Medal Winners!
Congratulations to the Searles Novice rep team on winning the Bronze Medal at the Ingersoll Rep Olympics!

It was a great start to the season, and a good chance for the team to get a feel for the competition they will face throughout the year.

Game one of the tournament saw the team up against a strong Lambeth Lancers squad who took the early lead and went on to down the Express 6-1.

Game two was up against the gritty Ennismore Eagles, with the final ending in a 1-1 tie.

The Dorchester Dragons were next in round robin play for game three.  The Express fought hard and had their chances but would lose the game by an 8-4 score.

After the round robin it was now onto the the Bronze Medal game in a rematch with Ennismore. Both teams came to play, and the score was 1-1 after period one.  A nice bank pass off the boards by Tanner Strom sent Brady Lamers in to bury it past the Eagles goalie with assists going to Colton Thompson and Damon Elliott.  Period two saw some good back and forth play until the Express took over.  Douglas Cattrysse would score twice with assists going Damon Elliott and Marin Popovic.  The Eagles would score a late goal to make it 3-2 after the second.  The third period would bring some exciting moments, especially around the Ingersoll net where Nolan Crane made numerous great saves and the defense were strong in defending the lead.  Cattrysse would finish the hat trick and the Express would go on to win 5-2.  Amazing effort by the whole team and the coaching staff!

Special thanks to the participating teams Lambeth (gold), Dorchester (silver) and the Ennismore Eagles for a great weekend of fun and exciting hockey.  As well, thank you to the organizers, volunteers and fans who helped make the tournament possible.

GO EXPRESS!!!
