33rd Black & Gold Tournament
The Atom LL Vision Property Mgmt. team travelled to West Lorne to take part in the 33rd Annual Black & Tournament this past weekend.  They met some strong competition on the Friday night against Thorold Blackhawks losing 7-0.  Ingersoll hung in there for the first period but Thorolds strong skaters quickly tired the Ingersoll squad and the could not defend the pressure.

After a good nights rest the Vision Property Mgmt team rode the Express train back to West Lorne to face the Ilderton Jets.  The players came out firing and it was a great game to the final horn.  Ilderton scored first with only 1:16 left to play in the first period.  Ingersoll fought back in the second period and really worked hard on gaining puck control and moving it up the ice.  #11 Cole Ialenti tied up the game at the end of the period with a goal after a pass from #15 Caden Groves.  Great team work boys!  The score remained tied as the horn sounded to end the 2nd period.  The 3rd period was just as exciting with both teams evenly matched and chances at both ends of the rink.  The goalies made some great saves and the puck stayed out of the net.   The time was flying off the clock and with only 1:23 left in the 3rd, Ilderton caught a break and slipped the puck into the back of the Ingersoll net.  That goal made the score 2-1 for Ilderton and that's how the game would end.  It was a tough loss for Ingersoll who really played there heart out.
The 3rd game took place later that afternoon and Ingersoll met the home team, the West Lorne Comets.  I could tell by the size and speed of some of those Comets kids that Ingersoll was in for a tough match.  It didn't take long for the Comets to light the Ingersoll goal lamp and that was the first of 12.  The Express team kept it close for the first period but could not keep up with speedy forwards and ran out of steam in the 2nd.   It's not easy to stay motivated when the odds seem overwhelming but the kids gave their best effort until the final horn.  #13 Cole Brownscombe broke up the West Lorne shut out at the 3:04 mark of second period after a nice pass from #12 Marshall Karmaris.  That would be the end of the road for this tournament with a record of 0-3
