Butterworth's Novice LL- Season Update
The Butterworth Services Express started the second half of the season with a home and home series with the, very tough, Burford Coyotes. 

The Coyotes, going undefeated in the first half of their season, and also scoring an average of 7 goals per game came up against the Express on Saturday, January 14th. Nolan Crane would be busy all game, facing a number of shots. The Express would battle hard but would come out with a 3-0 loss.

On Wednesday, January 18th the Express would travel to Burford to, once again, take on the Coyotes. Burford would score twice early in the game taking a 2-0 lead going into the second period. Brady Lamers would get the Express on the board in the 2nd with an assist going to Andrew Lindsay. With two minutes left on the clock, the Express would pull the goalie and put some pressure on the Coyotes, but couldn't put one past the goalie, ending the game with a 2-1 loss.

On Thursday the Express would take on the Ingersoll Canadian Tire team. Canadian tire would get on the scoreboard 1st, but Douglas Cattrysse would answer with a goal evening the score at 1-1. With three minutes left in the game, Nathan Wilson would find himself all alone in the slot with the puck and would score the eventual game winner. The Express coming away with a 2-1 win.

On Saturday, January 21st the Express would travel to Waterford to take on the Wildcats. Douglas Catrysse would get the Express rolling with a pair of goals in the first period. Catrysse would complete his hat trick in the Second period with assists going to Maeve Baker and Nathan Wilson. Catrysse wasn't finished as he would score his fourth goal of the game in the third period,  giving the Express a 4-1 win. With the 4 goals Douglas was awarded a, well-deserved, player of the game award.

On Sunday January 22 the Express traveled to Langton to play the Leafs. This would finish a busy week of hockey with four games in five days. The Express would fall behind early and would fight to get to back into the game with goals by Colton Thompson and Brady Lamers. Down 4-2 late in the 3rd, the Express would pull Nolan Crane to get an extra skater but couldn't get one past the Langton goalie. The Express would lose 5-2.
