This past weekend the Ponting Financial Services Pee Wee Rep team traveled to Caledonia for
the Caledonia Challenge Cup. The tournament began Friday at lunch
with an intense game against the Welland Tigers.
Both teams played hard and continued to challenge each other for the duration of the game. Final outcome was a 2-2 tie. Later that evening we travelled to Hagersville to take on the South Muskoka Bears. The Bears proved to be a team we couldn't take lightly. The boys proved themselves to be the stronger team in the end with a 4-2 win. Saturday morning we started our day not knowing if we would be staying for the afternoon or leaving after this game against Kincardine. This game was a struggle for our boys and we only managed to cinch the deal in the 3rd with two open net goals. Final score was 3-0. We were off to the semis!!! The semi final game was against the second place team from Pool B, Petrolia Oilers. Ingersoll and Petrolia both knew that this game would either send them to the finals or send them home and no one wanted to go home. The atmosphere was intense as the boys battled it out on the ice but it wasn't our time to go home. We won 3-0 and pushed through to Sundays final for a rematch against the South Muskoka Bears. This game was all ours right from the first whistle. The boys let the Bears know that they were taking no prisoners and a final score of 6-0 proves what a great team can do when they work together and have great leadership from the bench. Thank you to all the players and parents and coaches who dedicated their entire weekend to this great sport!!! Next tournament will be in Niagara Falls starting November 4th. Go Express go!!!
