Ingersoll Tirecraft at Woolwich Cup Challenge
This past weekend the Ingersoll Tirecraft Atoms played in the Woolwich Cup Challenge in St Jacobs/Elmira.

Their first game, Saturday morning, against Woolwich was a hard fought battle but Ingersoll’s goalie, #33 Spencer Krejewski’s shutout combined with #5 Garret Folkema’s goal in the second was enough to give the Tirecraft boys a 1-0 win to start the tournament.

Saturday afternoon saw the Ingersoll Atoms play Caledonia. In the first, Caledonia established themselves on the ice taking back to back goals to make the game 2-0 but before the end of the third Ingersoll’s #10 Owen Dickinson would score on an assist from #12 Kieran Collins and #7 Landon Upton.

Second period Ingersoll would tie it up on a goal from #18 Owen Lively but the victory was short lived as Caledonia would manage to score back to back goals to lead by two. Ingersoll would keep pace scoring their own back to back goals from Kieran Collins and Garret Folkema to end the second in 4-4 tie.

Third period Caledonia scored again to take the lead but with just over a minute left in the game, Ingersoll’s Garret Folkema would tie it up on an assist from #19 Keifer Sim-Currah. Final 5-5.

 

Onto Sunday action,  Ingersoll would go on to play the tournament favored Wellington Lightning. Unfortunately, Wellington would take the game 5-1  with the sole Ingersoll goal by Garret Folkema on an assist from Owen Lively.

Sunday afternoon Ingersoll would face Caledonia again.

Ist period Caledonia scored back to back goals. Ingersoll’s #18 Owen Lively would score on an assist from #8 Ryan Knox to shorten the lead but Caledonia would score again to end the first 3-1 Caledonia.

A hard fought 2nd period would see Garret Folkema score on an assist from #6 Lucas Folkema to bring the lead within one point but Caledonia would pull away scoring with a minute left of play in the second and two more unanswered goal in the third. Final score 5-2 for Caledonia.
