Novice LL #1 Anderson Appliances vs Waterford
Friday’s game against the Waterford Wildcats was to be a big test for the Novice LL #1 Anderson Appliance team, coming off a win in Oshweken and a tie in Tillsonburg, they had to keep on winning to move up the standings. The game took place in Waterford and from the start would be a nail biter.

Ingersoll came out of the gate strong, hard and fast in the 1st period as #16 Travis. N skated hard for a breakaway down the ice but eventually was broken up by strong defensive play. Then it was Waterfords chance as they came in hard but were stoned by the pad of Drew. P who was on fire looking like Roberto Luongo after his debut tie 2 nights earlier. Ingersoll kept the pressure on and it paid off, at the 6:31 mark #6 Brandt. K came in hard and scored the nights’ first goal unassisted taking the lead 1-0. Play continued and attempts were exchanged when #16 Travis. N came screaming in unassisted on the left wing for a breakaway and put the puck top shelf where grandma keeps the cookies to make the score 2-0. Waterford was not going to back down as at 2:58 in the 1st they came in and slipped one past Drew. P to make the score 2-1.

In the 2nd, Waterford came out strong and only a minute in, was able to tie the score up at 2-2 making the cheers from the crowd switch from Ingersoll fans to Waterfords. The game was high strung for most of the 2nd period, with Ingersoll having multiple shots along with Waterford, but Drew. P stood large in-between the pipes and didn’t let a single puck touch the twine. With just over 1 minute to go, #3 Kyle. V came in and put the puck in the net for Ingersoll to take back the lead at 3-2 ending the 2nd.

The 3rd period was full of tough fought by other sides, Ingersoll trying to get some insurance from another goal and Waterford trying to tie it up. Waterford had an amazing chance and put it up and over Drew. P but was unable to beat the post and then the puck was found and covered for Ingersoll. Ingersolls #20 Ryan. W had multiple shots on goal but was constantly stopped by the post and couldn’t buy one if he tried. With under 1 ½ minutes to go in the 3rd period #6 Brandt. K kept the pressure on for Ingersoll going in for a breakaway and another wrap-around attempt but being stopped twice, but #15 Charlotte. R was not going to be stopped and was able to slide the rebound into the net making the final score 4-2.

Ingersoll came away with a win in Waterford and now has a 3 game point streak going into their game on Monday against Paris. The Novice LL #1 Anderson Appliance team with the win in Waterford will move from 12th overall to a tie for 10th spot.
