Thursday night saw our Express team hit the ice for the first game back after the Bill Batten Memorial tournament. Looking to get rid of the bad taste that the final game of the tournament left, our players were determined to not let that one game define them.
Right out of the gate the scoring onslaught started and saw or Express team fill the back of the Plattsville net with a mind numbing 7 goals in the first period.
With our coaching staff encouraging our players to now take the foot of the gas pedal and play good defensive hockey, we still kept the puck away from the visiting team and slowed right down only beating the visitors 4 more time in the second period. With the lead building into the double digits our boys just could not seem to stop the puck from entering the visitors net and added six more goals in the third. For a final of 17-0.
I think and hope after coming back to a game like this will turn our Express team back to the right track and continue down this path leading to a couple of hard games coming up against Simcoe, Tavistock and Delhi leading us into our most important tournament of the year Wasaga Beach Silver Stick.
