On Tuesday February 9 the Ingersoll Canadian
Tire Novice played the Tillsonburg Tornadoes.
In first period, both teams came out strong. With good goal tending and a couple of missed opportunities, it was Tillsonburg who scored first with just a minute left in the first.
A minute and a half into the 2nd period, Ingersoll’s #8 Cole McNeil scored to tie it up but Tillsonburg would once again take the lead as they squeaked past Ingersoll’s goal tender #30 Spencer Krajewski.
In the 3rd, Tillsonburg would widen the gap scoring again making it 3-1 and making Ingersoll chances of catching up look pretty slim but in the last four minutes of play Ingersoll’s Cole McNeil scored again on an assist from #4 Warren Perry. 40 seconds later #11 Owen Lively would score on an assist from Cole to tie the game. Tillsonburg would try to rally back but were unable to contend with Spencer, who was on his A game. With only 23 seconds left it would be #7 Brandt Kloepfer scoring on an assist from #18 Carter Skevington that would give Ingersoll the 4-3 win.
