The Tremblett’s Peewee AE Express continued to battle
in their Southern Counties playoffs this week taking on Simcoe, Caledonia, and
Plattsville. All 3 games were closely
contested with the local team falling just short in the end of all three.
At home against Simcoe, the grocery boys fought to a scoreless draw through 2 periods before Simcoe scored 2 quick goals five minutes into the third. Simcoe added another late to make the final 3-0.
Thursday night the boys traveled to Caledonia to take on the league’s top team, the Caledonia Thunder. Again the boys competed hard early in the game, heading to the third period down 1-0. Caledonia managed to score 3 goals in a four minute span to surge into the lead and then add one more late to make the final 5-0.
Saturday the Tremblett’s Express rolled into Plattsville to face the Rage. Emmitt Robinson scored late in the first period assisted by Lucas White and Keagan Clifford to put the Express into the lead at the end of the first period. The score remained 1-0 for the grocery boys until Plattsville scored 2 quick goals late in the second period to overtake the Express. The Rage kept coming scoring at the 9 minute mark to go ahead 3-1. With the Express pressing, Plattsville scored 2 more goals in the last 2 minutes to make the final 5-1 in favour of the Rage. The Express will continue their round robin playoffs this week.
