Tremblett’s Continue Southern Counties Playoffs
The Tremblett’s Your Independent Grocer Peewee AE Express continued their Southern Counties playoffs with two games over the past week.  The boys continued to battle hard but failed to record a win in the two games.

The boys hosted the Tillsonburg Tornadoes in a rematch from the previous week.  After falling 5-0 in Tillsonburg the boys were determined to provide a stiffer test for their Highway 19 rivals.  Tillsonburg took an early lead, opening the scoring a minute and a half into the game.  Ethan Martire replied with a hard wrist shot from the boards after taking a pass from Luke Turner.  The Tornadoes replied almost immediately to regain their lead making the score 2-1 after one period.  The teams traded opportunities over the next two periods with both goaltenders standing tall in their nets until Tillsonburg scored with 2 minutes remaining to take a 3-1 lead.  The grocery boys couldn’t rally and fell 3-1.

The Tremblett’s team traveled to Simcoe also this week to meet the Warriors.  The game was a chippy affair with both teams making numerous trips to the penalty box.  Simcoe opened the scoring early in the first but Martire replied before the end of the period.  Parker Huitema assisted on the goal.  The second period saw the Express shorthanded for most of the period.  The boys held Simcoe off the board until late in the period when Simcoe scored to take a one goal lead into the third period.  The Warriors extended their lead to two at the ten minute mark.  As the game began to wind down and the rough play continued, Simcoe exploded, scoring four goals in the last 3 minutes of play to make the final score 7-1.  The score certainly did not reflect the competitiveness of the game between two fairly evenly matched teams.  The Tremblett’s team has a long break between games due to scheduling quirks but are getting ready for their next opponent, the Paris Wolfpack on February 12.
