Express Double Up Twin Centre

Thursday night the Ingersoll Express Ponting Financial Pee Wee REP team hosted a tough Twin Centre team.  Twin Centre has been a difficult adversary in the past for the Pee Wee REP team, but this years edition was looking to rewrite future scripts.  Ingersoll jumped out to an early lead when Joel Verspeeten (Max Branderhorst, Seth Hedges) opened the scoring with a Power Play goal to give the home side a 1-0 lead.  Twin Centre scored the equalizer late in the first period that was redirected off a Express defense stick that found its way behind Carter Spence to snuff out any Express momentum.  Max Branderhorst (Brodee Nurse, Hedges) quickly got the Express back on top, but Twin Centre again quickly responded with another goal.
Late in the second period Ingersoll's aggressive forecheck was gaining them real estate in the offensive zone that created some scoring chances.  Tye House (Branderhorst, Verspeeten) scored what was the eventual game winner from two great passes from both his wingers that he was able to wire one past the TC netminder.  The third period opened up more for the Express as they continued to press TC with aggressive forechecking.  Seth Hedges (House, Benham Martin) smoked a big boomer from the point to give the Express a two goal cushion.  Owen Longlade (House, Martin) sealed the deal as he let off his wrister that was just too much for the TC goalie to hang onto that found its way past the goal line giving the Express a 5-2 win.  Spence turned away 18 of the 20 shots he faced for his 9th victory of the season.  Highlight of the Night was Carter "Ribz" Spence showing off his acrobatic impression of Dominik Hasek with his diving save to hold the lead in the dying seconds. Next Up for the Express in SC Action is a four game Road Trip starting in St. George on Saturday, with a 2:00pm puck drop.
