Atom Rep team have been competing Hard
The Atom Brokerlink Rep team competed in the 50th Anniversary Tobacco Town Tournament the weekend of December 3-6.  The boys would face our highway 19 rival, the Tillsonburg Tornadoes in game 1 of the tournament.  The Express boys would play a scoreless first period, with some great goaltending by Nate White.  Then early in the second period Tyler Watts would bang in the rebound from Brody Williams shot to put the Express ahead 1-0 through two periods of play.  As the teams continued to battle, the Tornadoes would manage to squeak one into the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1.  As the play continued back and forth for both teams, no one could break through the defence or manage to beat a goalie, so the game would end in a 1-1 draw.

In game 2 of the tournament the Express's opponent would be the Mt.Brydges Cougars.  The Cougars would be a tough opponent with chances for both teams to take the lead, however, both the Mt.Brydges goalie and most importantly, Nate White the Ingersoll Express goaltender would shut out their opponents through all three periods of play, with a final score of 0-0 through 30 minutes of play.
Mooretown Jr. Flags, would be the boys third opponent of the tournament.  the boys were ready to play Mooretown, who would again be a tough team.  Again, Express goalie, Ewan Spence, would shut the door on Mooretown through two periods of play.  So heading into the 3rd period, the boys would skate hard and play harder, being rewarded with a goal from Jax Nguyen, unassisted, at 3:55 of the third period.  Spence would continue to shut out Mooretown until, with 24 seconds left in the 3rd period, Mooretown would be granted a penalty shot and would tie the game at 1-1.  Although the boys would go undefeated in round robin play, they would not move onto the semi-finals.  Great job boys!!!
Back to regular season play on December 10th, the Atom Express would host the Twin Centre Stars.  The boys would hit the ice with determination.  The Ingersoll Express would be the first team to score at 3:55 of the first period with a goal from Landon Skevington assisted by Nguyen.  Skevington would strike again, assisted by Jesse Jones to put the Express ahead 2-0 after the first period of play.  Then early in the second period it would be Jones, assisted by Skevington, who would put the Express ahead 3-0.  The Express train would strike again at 6:16 of the second with an unassisted goal from Colton McPherson.  With 31 seconds left in the third period, Adam VanDyk, assisted by Willie Parsons and Ty Shapton, would score to put the Ingersoll Express ahead 5-0 through two complete periods of play.  The third period would see very little scoring action with both teams being shut out.  Congratulations to Express goaltender Ewan Spence on a shut out.  The boys next game will be Sunday, December 13 at 2:40pm, when they will travel to Simcoe to face the Warriors.
