Anderson Appliance vs. Canadian Tire
It was an all Ingersoll event Sunday morning as the Canadian Tire Team hosted Anderson Appliance in a battle for 1st in the division.  The Anderson Appliance team was coming off a great road win in Delhi and looking to keep the winning streak alive.  The Canadian Tire team had other plans for the Anderson Appliance crew and showed up ready play handing them a 3-2 loss after a hard fought battle.

The game started with Anderson's on their heels from the opening face off and the Canadian Tire team putting lots of shots on #5 Riley Vyse.  Anderson's had a tough time controlling the puck and Canadian Tire took advantage early and at 7:35 of the first period split the defence with some great passing and put the puck in the net on a breakaway.  Anderson's struggled clearing the puck and Canadian Tire stole the puck several times at the blue line to keep the puck in the Anderson's end of the ice.  Anderson's didn't give up and held off the early pressure and squeaked out of the first period only down 1 goal.
The second period was a bit more even hockey and both teams had great chances to score.  The puck was moving up and down the ice as both teams did a better job clearing the zone and dumping the puck in over the blue lines.  #9 Noah Muller had a great chance to score but the puck was just a bit too far ahead of the streaking player and he ran out of room to get the shot away.  That was a good effort Noah!  The Canadian Tire team took advantage of some sloppy play of Anderson's at the blue line when they failed to clear puck and left an open man in front Riley who banged home the rebound.  Tough break Riley, you had no chance on that one.  The period ended with Canadian Tire up 2-0.
The third period got underway with both squads hungry for goals and the goalies had their hands full.  Anderson's found themselves scrambling in their own zone and Canadian Tire took full advantage, scoring the third of the game at 6:23.  Anderson's had to regroup and play some better positional hockey if they wanted to mount a comeback.  The defence stepped up and did a good job holding the blue line, giving the forwards some opportunities to put the puck in the net.  #7 Carson Ling and #12 Marshall Karmaris both had good chances in front of the net but the Canadian Tire goalie was hot and the bounces where not going our way.  Finally at 4:05 after some really great pressure, #15 Logan Pare took the puck in on net from the blue line and ringed the puck off the goalies mask and into the net for a goal!  Nice one Logan!  This goal gave the Anderson team some traction and they kept firing shots towards the Canadian Tire goal in hopes of a comeback.  They caught a break when a Canadian Tire player was sent to the penalty box for tripping, giving Anderson's the advantage.  It worked out in their favour with 2:28 on the clock after some great passes from #8 Alex Stratton to #9 Noah Muller.  Noah found #14 Dylan Craib who's been hot lately and Dylan scored to cut the lead to 1 goal.  Awesome team work to get the job done and great finish Dylan!.  Anderson pulled the goalie in final minute of play but Canadian Tire weathered the storm and pulled out a 3-2 victory.  It was a good finish after a rocky start and the team gave a real effort.  All players from both teams should be proud.
