Close Game for Ingersoll PeeWee LL at Carmeuse Lime Invitational
It was on 'edge of your seat' kind of game on the Friday night of the Carmeuse Lime Invitational tourney this weekend.

It was as the puck dropped that we could see the game was going to be fast paced game between these 2 teams.  But it was Matt Debruyn who got Ingersoll on the board first.  As the crowd cheered on, both teams didn't give up.  With 2 minutes left in the second period, Zach Lewis came in with a goal of his own.  The crowd cheer even more as he did a skate by.  With emotions high, Matt Debruyn got 2 more goals in the 3rd period assisted by Kiara Haley.  It was with just over 7 minutes left in the 3rd period that London got a tripping penalty which resulted in Eddie Ball taking a penalty shot (no goal).  With 3 minutes left, Tanner George's persistence paid off with him scoring one of his own, assisted by Ashton Van Boekel.

The game ended with a score of 7-5 for London.  Matt Debruyn was awarded MVP.

But it wasn't over yet, and what I saw in the lobby is something that as a parent makes you think, sportsmanship is what makes this game so special.  The team from London each walked through the lobby with a gift of thanks to give the Ingersoll team for making today's game possible.

Congratulations on a game well played by all the players from Ingersoll and London.  And thank you to Carmeuse Lime for supporting this tournament for the 52nd year.
