The Dorchester
Dragons wasted no time introducing themselves to Carmeuse net-minder #1 Carson
Rachar as they scored the first goal of the game at 14:20, last Tuesday night
at the Ingersoll District Memorial Centre. While Carmeuse struggled to get the
puck over their own blueline, Rachar would be vigilant in denying Dorchester’s
continued offensive assault. At 7:48, #16
Tanner Moon, assisted by #15 Parker Moon, complimented Rachar’s vigilance by
making the score 1-1. Carmeuse would
win the period after #19 Dawson Kays, assisted by #2 Jesse Carew and #9 Ryan
Cooper, paid a successful visit to the Dorchester net-minder at 1:36.
As the puck dropped to start the second period, the Dragons returned to their offensive assault as they owned the puck within the Carmeuse blueline. While Carmeuse struggled to define their game, Rachar was busy defining his. Dorchester would tie the game at 8:32, but it would their last goal of night.
Carmeuse found their defined style of well-played offensive hockey in the second half of the third period, just in time to bring this game to a fast a furious end. Carmeuse registered two goals in just over one minute. Kays, assisted by #12 Duncan Chevrier, reacquainted himself with the Dorchester net-minder at 6:57 then, at 5:39, #14 Chris Dimmers, assisted by #5 Riley Jayne scored a bit of insurance. As the last twenty seconds of the period disappeared, Kays would score an unassisted goal on a solo and savvy effort, earning himself a hat trick in Carmeuse’s season ending 5-2 win.
