Bantam Rep In Round Two of OMHA Playoffs
The Ingersoll Express Bantam Rep team sponsored by Louie's Pizza moved into the second round of OMHA playoffs and faced Ayr on February 6th and 7th.
The Express travelled to Ayr for the opening game of round two and dialed in a win with a score of 3-1. Tyler Arts put the Express on the board early tipping in a shot from Eric Savoie at 11:59 in the first, then Ayr would stay in the game pocketing one at 7:10 ending the first period at 1 all. With 4:36 left in the second Savoie scored from Arts to move the Express ahead by 1. There would be no more scoring by either team until Tanner Gray put one in with a slap shot from the point at 4:03 in the third putting the final score 3-1 Ingersoll.
The 2nd Game was played in Ingersoll with the final score being the exact same as game one. Ingersoll played a better game overall than game one. The Express struck first at 8:57 when Robbie Jackson buried a slap shot from the point assisted by Maxx Shelton and Jacob Branderhorst. The 2nd goal came in the 2nd at 5:09 when Clayton Hammond came at the goalie and waited until he made his move and put goal number 2 on the board assisted by Eric Savoie and Tyler Arts. With only 12 seconds left in the same period Tanner Geddies pocketed a rebound assisted by Justin Holmes and Tanner Gray. Great job from Noah Robinson in net for both games. The Express will not play Ayr again until Saturday night in Ingersoll for game 3 when a win will move them on to round 3. Go Express!
