Brokerlink Express Clinch Top Spot in Southern County Group A Round Robin with Win over Caledonia
     Your Ingersoll Brokerlink Express team have clinched top spot in Southern County Round Robin play with a 6-2 victory over Caledonia March 8th in Ingersoll. The Brokerlink Boys will now play the fourth place team in the semi-finals. Dates and opponent are to be determined. Braden Wright had to be helped off the ice after falling heavily into the boards in the first minute of the second period.

     Evan Hopson opened the scoring three minutes into the game. After receiving a cross ice pass from Alex Schuett, Hopson skated into the Caledonia zone on a breakaway before shooting the puck to the top corner of the net. Adam VanDyk also assisted on the goal. The next shift, Gavin Bryant attempted to split the Caledonia defence, but was tackled by two players with no call from the officials.

     Thirteen seconds into the middle period, Wright pinched in from the point and fell awkwardly into the boards and had to leave the game. Caledonia evened the score with seven minutes left in the period when they pounded a rebound past Ingersoll starting goalie Jeremy Hardeman. Despite being held and hooked, Schuett managed to get a wrist shot to the net that beat the Thunder goalie to give Ingersoll the lead. Cohen Belore and Benham Martin assisted on the goal. Owen Longlade won the ensuing faceoff and carried the puck into the Thunder zone. Longlade passed the puck to Seth Hedges at the point and Hedges fired a laser that found the back of the net. As the period was winding down, a turnover in the Ingersoll zone resulted in Caledonia scoring their second of the game. The period ended with Ingersoll leading 3-2.

     Ingersoll put the game away in the third. Longlade sent a backhand shot to the net and Brody Nurse ripped the rebound into the cage two minutes into the period. Hopson also collected an assist on the goal. Two minutes later, Bryant fired a pass up the middle to Schuett who would dazzle and dangle through the Thunder team before scoring the goal of the game. Officials refused to call the slashing, tripping and other infractions that occurred in the third with the game out of reach for the Thunder. With one and a half minutes left in the game, Cohen Alexander deflected a shot from Bryant that gave Ingersoll a 6-2 victory.
