Finishing first in the round robin, then beating the home team on their ice has led Butterworth's Service Centre to the finals for the first time this season.

Once again as many games before the first period was nothing but a battle for control. Control of the ice, control of the puck and control above all our nerves. Neither team could get a strangle hold of the other back and forth the puck went for the entire first period ending in a scoreless draw.
The second period started and we saw much of the same as the first until 3:21 left in the period Elmvale was able to get a puck through our warriors of the blue line and some how managed to penetrate the wall #1 Christopher Hardeman has held for so long this year. The second ended with our Express down a goal and with there heads hanging low.
Then with a quick in between period scrum at the bench from coach Darren House our little train that could came out like a Bullet train and with only one stop in mind that was first place Champions!
With the desire for the win in their hearts the Express fought on and at 4:37 left in the third the tide had shifted with #6 Wyatt Thompson tying the game at 1.
We were now in the heads of the Elmvale team and constant pressure put #14 Dylan Lale as the conductor of the train and broke the tie putting Butterworth's ahead with only a 1:31 left in the third. Not happy with the one goal buffer and just catching the goaltender as he tried to leave the Elmvale net to get a extra attacker on the ice, our buzzer beater himself #6 Wyatt Thompson added his second of the game.
With the last two weeks full of ups and downs our Ingersoll Express Novice team was able to over come all and come to together as a cohesive unit. This is only now the beginning build from this and carry it on from here until the end. For now you are a team and now you will succeed.
