Sunday Afternoon Game for Novice Local League Team Anderson Appliances in Delhi
It was a beautiful winter afternoon to drive to Delhi Sunday January 25. Team Anderson Appliances faced the Delhi Rockets for game one of playoffs.
The Rockets were pumped with having the home ice advantage. They quickly took control of the game with a 3-0 lead in the first period. Ingersoll sustained a 2 minute penalty that took the advantage further.
The second period had the Rockets broaden the lead with an additional four goals. Delhi received two minor penalties and despite the advantage, Ingersoll had difficulty getting the puck past the Rocket goaltender. The second period ended 7-0 in favour of Delhi.
The scoring attempts slowed down in the third period. Delhi scored their final goal within the first minute of play. Ingersoll fought the Rockets off hard. Despite multiple chances in front of the opponents net, the game remained scoreless for Team Anderson.
Final score 8-0 for Delhi.
