Weekend of Fun Hockey in Delhi Novice Local League Tournament
Team Anderson Appliances Novice Local League started their weekend of hockey off Saturday January 17th with a 9am game against the Elmvale Coyotes.



 Elmvale took control of the game with a 3-0 lead at the end of the first period. Elmvale continued to dominate through the second period with an additional 3 goals. It was during the last minute of play that #11 C. Brownscombe put Ingersoll on the board with a little help from #3 Josh Robles and #7 M. Vervaecke. The second period ended with Elmvale leading 6-1. Team Anderson shutdown the Coyotes a little during the third period. The Coyotes scored two more goals, giving them 8. With only thirty seconds left in the game, defenceman #17 C. McNeil assisted #3 J. Robles on the final goal of the game.
Final score Elmvale 8; Ingersoll 2.

The weekend of team building continued in the Express vs the Edge game at 2pm. The excitement built up during the first period with both teams rallying for the puck. Simcoe was the first on the board with a goal halfway through the first period. One minute later, Ingersoll forward, #9 C. Groves scored a beautiful breakaway goal. The first period ended tied 1-1. The Edge ramped up the energy during the second period. They scored two goals within the first half. Ingersoll fought back with a goal from #1 G. Folkema, proving that a little cold was not going to keep him away from hockey. Thirty seconds later, the Ingersoll scramble in front of the net paid off. #17 C. Brownscombe fired a shot off into the Simcoe crease, with #7 M. Vervaecke popping it in. The period wasn't over for Simcoe who scored with only eleven seconds left in the period. The score was now 5-2 in favour of Simcoe. Two minutes into the third period, the Edge scored. Ingersoll played hard and held them off from furthering the lead. It was a very exciting game with lots of great saves from goaltender K. Brown and hardwork from the rest of the Express team. Final score was 6-3 for Simcoe.

Team Anderson was back at first thing Sunday morning with their final game of the Delhi tournament. They faced the Delhi Rockets at a 9am game. The Rockets took the lead with two goals in the first period and one in the second. Team Anderson's Appliances did an amazing job of holding off the Rockets from scoring further. The game ended with Delhi winning 3-0. The highlight of the weekend was a team hanging out together for pizza and chats. Thanks to our coaches for all their hardwork in organizing a fun weekend for the kids get to know each other personally off of the ice.
