The Ingersoll Pharmasave Tyke Selects started off 2014 by traveling to St. Thomas on January 5th at 9:00am. The team was just coming off the Dorchester
tournament and was looking to get back to their winning ways.
The Game started off with St. Thomas being hungrier for the puck which concerned the Fans of the Ingersoll Pharmasave Tyke Selects. St. Thomas started the scoring in the First period at 3:19 when #5. K. Silva got a pass from # 11 – N. Coombs and hit the back of the net, giving St. Thomas a one goal lead.
The rest of the first period and the second period was controlled by St. Thomas Tykes for the most part. The Ingersoll Pharmasave Tyke Selects Net minder M. Cudney was solid in net stopping the shots from the St. Thomas Tykes and keeping the Ingersoll Pharmasave Tyke Selects in the game.
At 10:51 of the third period, St. Thomas Tykes improved the lead when #15 L. Stanat scored from a pass from # 17 A. MacMillan making the score St. Thomas 2 and Ingersoll Pharmasave Tyke Selects 0.
At 6:57 of the third period the Ingersoll Pharmasave Tyke Selects put the puck past the St. Thomas Goalie when #16 E. Cuthbert broke by the St. Thomas Tykes Defense and scoring after receiving a pass from #5 B. Plaquet. The score was Ingersoll Pharmasave Tyke Selects 1 and St. Thomas Tykes 2. At 2:16 of the third Period, the Ingersoll Pharmasave Tyke Selects #8 C. Hardeman kept digging for the puck out front of the St. Thomas Net. His shot hit the back of the St. Thomas net, with # 16 E. Cuthbert getting credit for the Assist. Score was now tied at 2. Thirty seconds later at 1:46 #11 W. Parsons got the winning goal for the Ingersoll Pharmasave Tyke Selects.
